School Board Recognizes Spelling Bee Winners

The Hardeman County School Board took time during its regularly scheduled board meeting on Thursday, March 14, 2024, to recognize and congratulate the winners of the recent county spelling bee.

The winners of the 2024 Hardeman County Spelling Bee were Shontavious Robertson of Bolivar Middle School, 1st Place; Alex Fawcett of Toone Elementary School, 2nd Place; Libby Smith of Hornsby Elementary School, 3rd Place; and Max Rimmer of Bolivar Elementary School, 4th Place.

The annual spelling bee was held on Monday, January 29, 2024, in the Bolivar Central High School auditorium. Twenty-two students were in attendance to compete and show their skills as orthographers – great spellers – to be named the top speller of Hardeman County. Shontavious Robertson, a sixth-grade student from Bolivar Middle School was the “last young man standing” spelling the word “equinox” to take the first-place trophy win. {you may watch the full spelling bee here}
