Secretary of State Tre Hargett’s Statement on Social Media Post
Tennessee’s Secretary of State Tre Hargett has released the following statement regarding false social media claims:
We have received several calls and emails about a false social media post. The claim is incorrect. In Tennessee, a ballot is not disqualified simply because an election official or poll worker makes an administrative notation on it.
For transparency and public awareness, we are sharing a screenshot of the post in question to address the misinformation directly.
For accurate information about voting procedures or your ballot, turn to trusted election officials rather than social media posts or rumors. The Tennessee Secretary of State’s Division of Elections can assist voters at 1-877-850-4959.
