UT/TSU Extension to Host Strawberry Jam Canning Class

The UT/TSU Extension will host a Strawberry Jam Water Bath Canning Class on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Dixie Hills Baptist Church.

Participants will learn the basics of making and safely preserving homemade strawberry jam using the water bath canning method. The class will cover proper canning techniques, food safety practices, equipment needed for home canning, and tips for preserving fresh strawberries.

The cost of the class is $20 per person. Registration is required by calling 731-658-2421.

This hands-on class is designed for beginners as well as those wanting to refresh their canning skills. Participants will leave with knowledge and confidence to continue canning at home.
