Volunteers Needed for Wreaths Out at Shiloh National Military Park

SHILOH, TN – On Saturday, January 18, 2025, the public is invited to the annual “Wreaths Out” event to assist in removing the wreaths placed on headstones during Wreaths Across America, from the Shiloh National Cemetery. Volunteers are asked to meet at the gates of the national cemetery at 11 a.m., no registration is required.

Volunteers should dress for the weather and bring their own work gloves. Park staff will be on site to organize and direct volunteers in the proper disposal of wreaths. Families who placed wreaths on specific burials are asked to arrive early to retrieve their sponsored wreaths if they wish.

Volunteers are allowed to bring broom handles, PVC pipe, or ropes to aid in removal of multiple wreaths. No sharp metal objects are permitted. Any attachment at the end of a stick, such as a gardening hoe, rake, or metal attachment must be removed before entering the national cemetery.
