Whiteville Swears in New Aldermen

The City of Whiteville held the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected alderman for the new term at the September 12, 2022 board meeting. There were five names on the August 4, 2022, Hardeman County General Election ballot, but only three positions up for election. Those with the most votes won.

The election winners, Jessie Junior Giles, Ocie Holmes, and Jimmie Lee Robertson were sworn in by City Attorney Ernest Brooks II at the beginning of the Town of Whiteville’s board meeting.

Jessie Junior Giles, who is serving his first term, is joined by his family at his swearing in ceremony.
Ocie Holmes, who previously served as an alderman, is joined by her family at her swearing in ceremony.
Jimmie Lee Robertson, who held an alderman position before the election, has served Whiteville in that capacity for 20 years.

Giles, Holmes, and Robertson will each serve a four-year term.
