BEA Announces Scheduled Power Outage for November 7–8 Weekend

Bolivar Energy Authority has announced a weather-dependent power outage for the weekend of November 7–8, 2026, affecting customers in the Toone and Powell Chapel substation service areas and portions of Bolivar.

According to BEA’s notice, the outage will begin at midnight on the evening of November 7 and continue until 6 a.m. Sunday, November 8. The interruption is necessary for the Tennessee Valley Authority to install new conductor along two routes of its 161-kilovolt transmission system.

The affected service areas include:

Toone Substation: All BEA customers north of the Hatchie River to the Madison County line, including Toone, Cloverport, Silerton, Highway 18 North and Highway 125 North.
Powell Chapel Substation: All BEA customers east of the Hatchie River to the McNairy County line, including Hornsby, areas north of Hornsby and the Powell Chapel Road area.
City of Bolivar: Portions of downtown Bolivar, Stevens Road and the Country Club area, streets near Bolivar Central High School and Bolivar Elementary School, and east Bolivar.

Some Bolivar customers can receive electricity from other substations during the work, while others will experience an outage. BEA emphasized that the listed locations describe general areas and are not an all-inclusive list of affected customers.

During the interruption, BEA personnel will also perform maintenance and line retirement work at substations and along Highway 64 near Tractor Supply Company.

The scheduled work is dependent on weather conditions. BEA thanked customers for their patience and understanding.
