Become a Master Gardener – Interest Picnic Planned for August 4
Have you ever wanted to learn more about gardening, give back to your community, and meet others who share your passion for plants? The Hardeman County UT/TSU Extension Office invites the public to attend a Master Gardener Interest Picnic on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Lone Oaks Youth Development 4-H Camp.
This free event is designed for anyone interested in learning more about the Tennessee Master Gardener Program and the upcoming Master Gardener Intern training class. Guests will have the opportunity to meet current Hardeman County Master Gardeners, tour the beautiful gardens at Lone Oaks Camp, and enjoy dinner together indoors while learning about the many benefits of becoming a Master Gardener volunteer.
The Tennessee Extension Master Gardener Program provides research-based horticultural education through the University of Tennessee and Tennessee State University Extension. Participants receive in-depth horticulture training and, after completing the course, volunteer their time to educate others, beautify communities, and support Extension outreach programs throughout the county.
Whether you are an experienced gardener or just beginning your gardening journey, the Master Gardener Program offers opportunities to expand your knowledge, develop lifelong friendships, and make a positive impact in your community.
The Interest Picnic is free to attend, but anyone planning to attend is encouraged to RSVP.
