Lunch & Learn Series Continues with Program on Soil Testing
The UT/TSU Extension Hardeman County Office invites the public to attend Week 5 of its free Lunch & Learn Series on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. The program will be held at the UT/TSU Extension Office, 210 Vildo Road, Bolivar, TN.
This week’s featured speaker is Dr. Robert Florence, who will present “Soil Testing,” with a focus on soils for home lawns and gardens. Dr. Florence will discuss how soil testing can help homeowners make informed decisions about fertilizing and improving soil health. He will also share simple observations gardeners can make in their own landscapes to troubleshoot common problems and prevent issues before they begin.
Whether you’re growing vegetables, maintaining a healthy lawn, or caring for ornamental plants, understanding your soil is one of the most important steps toward gardening success. Participants will learn how the soil testing laboratory can assist them and gain practical tips they can immediately apply at home.
The Lunch & Learn Series is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch, as no food will be provided.
