Bolivar Fire Department Celebrates New Engine 4 with Traditional Push-In Ceremony

The Bolivar Fire Department commemorated the arrival and commissioning of its new Engine 4 on Monday, June 8, 2026, with a special Push-In Ceremony, continuing a time-honored fire service tradition while marking a significant investment in public safety for the community.
City officials, community leaders, firefighters, and residents attended the event, which symbolized the official placement of the new apparatus into service.

The push-in ceremony traces its roots to the era of horse-drawn fire equipment, when firefighters would manually push engines back into the station after returning from emergency calls. Today, the tradition serves as a ceremonial way to place a new fire engine into active service and recognize its readiness to respond to emergencies.
According to department officials, Engine 4 represents a major enhancement to the department’s emergency response capabilities and will help ensure continued protection for the citizens of Bolivar and surrounding areas.

The Bolivar Fire Department expressed its gratitude to the mayor and members of the City Council for their ongoing commitment to public safety and support of the investment that made the acquisition of Engine 4 possible.
