Greg Bennett Setting His Sights for Hardeman County Mayor

Hardeman County is at a crossroads. We are seeing a declining population, empty buildings, and missed opportunities for growth. Businesses are looking at our county and too often choosing to go elsewhere. I believe we can do better.

I’m Greg Bennett, a Hardeman County small business owner, and I am asking for your vote for County Mayor.

My wife and I own and operate a local business here in the county, and we understand firsthand the challenges and opportunities that come with building something in this community. Before that, I spent years working with business leaders across the country and around the world in new business development, restructuring, and sales and marketing. Those experiences have given me the tools to make tough decisions and deliver real results.

As mayor, you are effectively the CEO of the county. That role requires leadership, integrity, and accountability.

But leadership isn’t just about experience, it’s about people.

I believe a mayor should be accessible, willing to listen, and focused on what matters most to the citizens. No one understands the needs of this county better than the people who live here. When people are heard and involved, better decisions are made.

Integrity and accountability are essential. I believe in steady, thoughtful leadership; especially during difficult times. The decisions made by the mayor and commission affect every family in this county, and they deserve careful consideration, transparency, and consistency.

We must also take a hard look at where we stand today. Our expenses are high, our tax base is low, and we are not attracting the level of business growth we should be. Multiple businesses have explored opportunities here and ultimately chose not to invest in our county. That is something we must change.

We need to examine policies, improve processes, and create an environment where businesses and families want to stay and grow. At the same time, we must continue to support our local businesses and stand behind the emergency responders and volunteers who serve our community every day.

Transparency is not just a word, it’s a responsibility. I am committed to making county information accessible and encouraging greater community involvement in local government.

My wife Kelly and I are proud to call Hardeman County home. She recently retired after 35 years in education, including 31 years as a special needs teacher. We enjoy spending time with our family and being part of this community.

We are running for this office because we believe in this county and its future.

Hardeman County can move forward but it will take leadership, accountability, and a commitment to real results. I am ready to get to work, and I would be honored to have your support.
