Hardeman County Arts Council Reports Progress on Building Repairs

The Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) is moving closer to returning home as repairs to its building continue, with all roof trusses and roof metal now replaced. Earlier this year, the HCAC announced the discovery of damage to the Hardeman County Arts Center building trusses and roof structure due to the weight of ice accumulation during Winter Storm Fern. (Click here to read more about the damage)

Work is underway to finish the soffit and corner trim, the remaining steps needed to complete the roof. Once that work is finished, attention will turn to interior repairs and reinstalling electrical systems, audio, video and lighting equipment, curtains and other components.

While significant work remains, the HCAC shared an encouraging message about the progress.

“We still have a lot of work to complete but lots of progress has been made,” the organization said in its social media update. “We hope to be back home soon!”

The HCAC has not announced a reopening date.

Community members who would like to help can contribute to the HCAC Building Repair Fund. Donations will support additional expenses incurred during this time, as well as building upgrades.

Contributions may be made online through the HCAC Building Repair Fund.

The HCAC thanked the community for its continued patience and support as work moves forward.
