Hickory Valley Swears in Aldermen

Hickory Valley Mayor Ricky Ayers along with all five of the town’s aldermen were sworn in at the regularly scheduled town meeting on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. City administrator, Loretta Bell, administered the oath of office.

There were five open aldermen positions on the November 8, 2022 ballot and five candidates who ran for those positions; Bobby Hensley, Richard Brian Lake, Duane L. Lax, Jane M. Powell, and Noel Toney. Incumbent Mayor Ricky Ayers ran unopposed.

Also at the meeting, Fire Chief Mike Vaughn announced they raised over $9,000 of their $100,000 goal towards the purchase of a new fire truck. It was announced in December Hickory Valley was receiving a grant for fire services improvements, which will also go towards the purchase of a new fire truck.

The of Town Hickory Valley meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at City Hall. The public is welcome to attend.
