Isaiah Hunt has returned to the Grand Junction board of alderman, filling a vacant position, and resuming one he previously held for 12 years. He will serve on February 5, 2024, for his first full Grand Junction Board of Alderman meeting.

At the start of the discussion of new business at the Monday, January 8, 2024, meeting, Vice-Mayor Ben Allen made a motion to nominate Isaiah Hunt to fill the vacant alderman position. A role call vote was done and Hunt was unanimously voted in as the new alderman. Hunt stepped down 19 months ago to “take a breather” from the position and explore other options. Since that time, he is now ready to return.

“I heard there was a vacancy on the board, and I was excited to come back and pitch in, and give them a hand with the community,” said Hunt who has lived in Grand Junction for about 18 years. “I am big on the community, and I feel like the community itself needs a voice. That is why I am back.”

After being sworn in, Hunt received a hug and shared handshakes with his fellow alderman. He then sat down and was ready to start discussing the new business of the City of Grand Junction.
