Murder Suspect Captured in Wooded Area in Toone

UPDATED DECEMBER 6, 2022: Johnny Dale Yarbrough was captured.

Residents in the Toone area had quite a scare on the evening of Saturday, December 4, 2022, as sheriff’s deputies and U.S. Marshalls advised of a fugitive on the run and warned residents to take precautions.

According to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department, Tyler Blake Pierce and Johnny Dale Yarbrough were wanted on charges of 1st Degree Murder, two counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder, and Possession of a Firearm During a Dangerous Felony, Especially Aggravated Robbery. A female subject, Amanda Cathy, was arrested and charged earlier for her involvement.

The criminal acts were committed in Gibson County, but at least one suspect fled to Hardeman County in an attempt to evade arrest.

Hardeman County Sheriff John Doolen said Tyler Blake Pierce was captured and taken into custody in a wooded area near Cloverport Road and Keller Road.

“Through good investigations and a lot of man hours, we have returned this young man to Gibson county so he can face his charges.” Doolen stated.
