Obituary: Eleanor J. Hart

Eleanor J. Hart ~ July 12, 1934 – July 15, 2023 (age 89)

Eleanor J. Hart, 89 of Toone, passed away early Saturday morning, July 15, 2023, at her home. She was the widow of Jerry Wayne (J. W.) Hart, Sr., who died on June 7, 2023. They were joined in marriage on June 24, 1972. Mrs. Hart was born and reared in Van Wert, Ohio, lived in Chicago for many years, and then moved to the Medon area in 1977. She was a seamstress and worked for Chester County Sports Wear until she retired. Mrs. Hart was Jehovah’s Witness in belief and became a member of the Bolivar congregation on January 22, 1983. A wonderful mother, she enjoyed taking care of her family, flowers, gardening, cooking, sewing, and watching Wheel of Fortune.

Funeral services will be held at Shackelford Funeral Directors’ Bolivar chapel on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 11 a.m. with burial in Belleview Cemetery in Bells, Tennessee.

Survivors include two daughters, Penny Juhl and Diana Roberts of Chicago, Illinois; three sons, James Hart of Toone, Tennessee, Ray Voyda of Freedom, Illinois and John Voyda of Chicago, Illinois; one step-daughter, Rhonda Hill and husband David of Saulsbury, Tennessee; one step-son, Jerry Wayne “Buddy” Hart, Jr. and wife Vicki of Jackson, Tennessee; two sisters, Marlene Kreeger of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Loretta Skocz of Elk Grove Village, Illinois; twelve grandchildren, David and Dnina Hill, Samantha, Christina, Brad and Steve Voyda, Paul, Keith and Mike Goff, Melissa Kelly, and Rachel and Michael Smith; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ida Waller Roberts; a sister Carol Bellacero; a brother, Sonny Roberts; a step-daughter, Debbie; and son James’ girlfriend, Jessica Sanders.

Her family suggests memorials be sent to Hardeman County Adoptable Animals.
