Obituary: John Zador, Jr.

John Zador, Jr. ~ October 28, 1944 – December 7, 2023, (age 79)

John Zador, Jr., a beloved member of the community and a retired employee of the Department of Defense, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2023, in Bolivar, Tennessee. He was born on October 28, 1944, in Washington, D.C., to Walter John Zador, Sr. and Dora Ann Gutherie Zador. John lived many places prior to coming to Hardeman County in 2020.

Throughout his life, John accomplished great things and left a lasting impact on those around him. He dedicated his career to serving his country and retired in 2014 from his role at the Department of Defense. Prior to that, he served a short time in the U.S. Navy, where he learned valuable skills and developed a strong sense of patriotism.

Outside of his professional life, John had a wide range of hobbies and interests. He cherished being around his loving family and found joy in their company. John was known for his talent at woodworking and had a knack for building computers. He took pleasure in working with his hands and creating intricate pieces. His craftsmanship was admired by many and will be remembered as part of his enduring legacy.  Mr. Zador was Lutheran in faith.

John is survived by his daughter, Natalie White of Middleton. He was preceded in death in 2016 by his wife, Dorothy Baker Zador, whom he married on December 2, 1967, and shared many wonderful years with. Their partnership was marked by love, support, and countless cherished memories.

John was also preceded in death by his brothers, Conrad Zador and Ronald Zador. As siblings, they shared not only a deep bond but also shared many adventures throughout their lives.

In addition to his immediate family members, John had an extensive network of friends who held him dear to their hearts. His warm personality and kind nature touched the lives of all who knew him. Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.  Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar is in charge of professional arrangements.
