Obituary: Reverend Glen Roger Brown

Reverend Glen Roger Brown ~ September 12, 1960 – December 22, 2023, (age 63)

Reverend Glen Roger Brown was born on September 12, 1960, in Bolivar, Tennessee.

His funeral service will be held at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Arthur Becton in charge. Burial will be in the church cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home is in charge of the professional service.

Reverend Glen was the seventh child to the late Billie and Rosie Brown. Reverend Glen accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.

After his completion of high school, he obtained a degree from Tennessee State University where he was honored to be on the Deans List. He later relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee. While in Chattanooga, he received his calling to minister God’s Holy word.

Reveverd Glen worked at Hamilton County Mayor’s Office in Chattanooga as a Senior Probation Officer for over thirty years. He retired September 2021.

After retirement, Reverend Glen moved back to his hometown, in Bolivar, Tennessee and rejoined his home church, Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.

On Thursday December 14, 2023, Reverend Glen departed from this life at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Reverend Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Billie and Rosie Brown; his grandparents, Frank Brown, Monroe Parham, Mary Taylor, and Hattie Bell Jones; and his niece and nephew, Flora Jean Sain and Jeremy Jackson.

Reverend Glen leaves to cherish his loving memories three brothers and six sisters, Fannie Sain, Annie Brown, Betty Brown, Dianne Simpson, Chuck Brown all of Bolivar, Tennessee, Ricky Brown of Hickory Valley, Tennessee, Nettie Jackson and Dennis Brown both of Jackson, Tennessee, and Mabel (Roosevelt) Eppes of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one aunt; three uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family and friends.
