Sain Road Bridge to Close October 1; Detours Could Last Up to a Year
A bridge on Sain Road will close beginning Thursday, October 1, 2026, after a Tennessee Department of Transportation inspection identified issues with the structure.
The Hardeman County Highway Department announced the closure of the Sain Road bridge, located just before Oakview Loop Road.
According to the Highway Department, a TDOT inspection report found issues with the bridge that require it to be closed. The length of the closure is currently undetermined, but motorists could face detours for up to a year while the bridge is replaced.
Because Sain Road is a State Aid Route, State Aid funding will be used to rebuild the bridge. Plans call for the existing structure to be replaced with a fully concrete bridge.
The Highway Department said it is working with the state to move the project along as quickly as possible and apologized for the inconvenience the closure may cause.
Detour routes will include:
- Sain Road to Burnett Mills Road
- Cliff Road to Highway 18 South
The road closure will take effect Thursday, October 1.
