The Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) invites you to come out for a night of fun and community for a Paint Party on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 6 p.m. The party will be conducted by Rachel Jeter of Take It Personal.

Jeter has offered paint parties for about 10 years. She considers herself more creative than an artist.

“I love creating something mostly from wood that when a person sees it, it touches their heart,” said Jeter who has been creating art since 2011.

The Paint Party is one of several non-theatrical events the HCAC has added to its schedule to increase the variety of offerings and better utilize the Arts Center facility. The HCAC typically presents four theatrical productions each season. HCAC President Brandon Burvee previously shared the goal is to present one event each month. Karaoke Night, music concerts, and the annual Hardeman’s Got Talent competition have drawn more people to the HCAC introducing them to a variety of fine arts experiences right here in Hardeman County. So far this year, the HCAC has had an event in its facility every month.

The Paint Party is geared towards older teenagers to adults. Individuals, friends and family, or groups, are invited to come out for a night of painting fun and fellowship. No painting skills are required.

Rachel already has the painting lines drawn for participants making it easier to complete the party project.

“No skill needed; they just need to be able to follow directions. This will be more of a relaxed class, with paint in the lines, and work at a guided pace,” said Jeter. “They will either be painting a Grinch or a Christmas tree. I already have the lines drawn onto the piece of wood. I found it was easier for painters to have lines, so, it’s simple. They just fill it in with the provided paint.”

Registration for the Paint Party is $45, and is open through Friday, October 27, 2023. The Paint Party will be held at the Hardeman County Arts Center, 1580 West Market Street, Bolivar, 385008.

“I hope people have fun and enjoy themselves! As well as feel proud of their work! Hopefully, it will spark a creative spirit that can be unleashed anywhere,” said Jeter.

Upcoming December events at the Hardeman County Arts Center include the theatrical production of Christmas Belles, Friday through Sunday, December 1 – 3, 2023, with tickets going on sale in November. Tickets for A Rockin’ Christmas Celebration Featuring Soundbox, on Saturday, December 16, 2023, are $15 and may be purchased online now on the HCAC website.
